2024 Trail Building Continues

The FLSRV Board has been busy this spring and summer planning and organizing the build out of the next trail section along Little Spokane River Drive south of Colbert Road. This section of trail is from View Rd. to Riverview Rd. It includes a 4-foot tall retaining wall, 400 feet long, and gravel for a 4-foot wide trail.

Several bids were acquired which were all almost double our $50,000 budget. But, one company, Sam’s Tree and Landscape, reached back out to us indicating their willingness to work with our budget. They adjusted their previous bid down to around $55,000 and will be working on it between other jobs this fall.

Additional plans in the works keeps us moving forward along this same trail route, but significant funds will be needed again to complete the rest of trail between Midway and Colbert roads along Little Spokane River Drive. Some of this section will require a retaining wall and additional work to get around a wetland area.

This fall, a small stretch the trail along Little Spokane Drive can be completed by volunteers, which will be scheduled soon. This will involve raking and smoothing out gravel like we have done with previous sections. More information will follow on times and dates. If you are interested please contact us.

Overall, we are close to meeting our goal of completing the trail from Midway Road to Colbert Road.  The remaining sections will take funding and volunteer hours to complete.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped so far.  We are one step closer to connecting the Little Spokane River Valley through this magnificent trail network.
